Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Dexamethasone vs Pred
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I use dexamethasone with our insulinomics and it works well for us.
They get an injection each evening (0.1 of 2mg/ml). I switched to
dexamethasone a couple years ago because several were having tummy
troubles and getting ulcers from prednisilone oral. Once the tummies
were healed I stayed with the dexamethasone and haven't had to increase
the dosage.

Previously we used it when they went into a low sugar episode, sometimes
along with Glutose on the gums, depending on severity. Typically it
brings them out of the episode in about 20-30 minutes.
