Age of the ferret? That may help figure out if the
ferret is whole or not, especially if it is Spring now
where the ferret is.

It is possible that surgeries were not done.

It is also possible that this ferret had some glands missed.

Alternatively, there have been problems in the past with
some "backyard breeders" (a nickname for very poor
breeders as opposed to "private breeders) who have
illegally sold wholesale sometimes with faked ID tats
and faked papers, but I have not heard of that in a
long time. Many of those ferret had magic marker "tats"
which --surprise -- went away, but some had real tats
yet were sold from store which had carried major farms'
ferrets before then but had not done so during the time
of the fakes. Again, I have not heard of this in some
time; I guess that legal action was perhaps taken against
those stores and their suppliers.

The person should contact MF directly.
