Hi, I'm not a vet, but I have a dog who goes out and is in constant contact with my ferrets. My ferrets don't go outside. We have not, even after 5 years had any flea trouble (knock on wood), I treat with Frontline, the small cat size. My 3 girls split one tube between them, and my two hobs share a tube. I also wait and only use it once every 1 1/2 mos. I don't like chemicals on my pets. They have had no issues so far. I figure a 1 1/2 pound ferret getting a 9 pound cat dosage just seems too much for their little bodies to have to take. Even splitting the tube in 3, if you're going by weight, they are getting twice the dose they should if my math is correct. My vet had no arguement when I posed this thought to her, but I'm not sure that other vets would agree.
