I have to ask the obvious. If you don't have a flea problem why are you
treating your ferrets at all? If you are keeping fleas off of your dog, the ferrets
shouldn't have fleas. I have four inside dogs, who go out to do their
business and hang out in the fenced back yard. They are all treated with Frontline
Plus monthly, year-round (I'm in Florida). I have never put any flea treatment
on my ferrets. There are no fleas to treat. The dogs don't get them so there's
nothing to bring inside.

**She is treating her ferrets to prevent them from being a problem. You have
been fortunate to not have fleas enter your house, because despite your dogs
being treated, there are still ways that fleas can get in - for example,
hitching a ride on you! I've seen quite a few households with flea problems where
there are NO animals that go outside. The flea "treatments" are best used as
preventives, just as they are being used by the person who you were replying
to.

As far as dosing, I generally use one to two drops per pound of the Frontline
Plus, or one spray per pound of the Frontline spray. As far as Revolution
goes, in order to control heartworm, the cat size needs to be used. If you're
just trying to control fleas, the kitten size is enough.**
