Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Reasons that a ferret will scream
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

His blood glucose should be checked.
It could have been a screaming seizure.
When those happen the diaphram is
contracting strongly enough that air
is forced across the vocal chords in
strong enough volume to cause
screaming. The individuals are in
seizure so they don't feel it but it is
very distressing and it does tend to
indicate that the seizure was a
massive one as do his urinating
on himself and his passing out. So,
his blood glucose has to be checked
rapidly and meds adjusted as needed.
