Hello Everyone,
I have a male who is guessed to be around 5 years old. We adopted him from the shelter. When we first brought him home I noticed he seemed to have trouble chewing. I believe this is a result of his obvious limited jaw movement. He never opens his mouth or yawns as wide as everyone else. I don't know if this is from an injury at his former home or a genetic problem.
He gets regular feedings consisting of baby food and softened kibble so I can make sure he is getting enough to eat. Because of this he needs to have a dental cleaning but because of the jaw problem I don't think a regular cleaning will be possible.
Are there any new procedures out there that work better for ferrets than the traditional cat/dog cleaning methods?
Has anyone found any products that work well and are safe for ferrets that will remove the tartar?
During my on-line search for dental products I came across alot of different items labeled for dogs and cats. I would like to make sure what I use will be safe.
I appreciate any suggestions and help.
