Of the 25 ferrets I've had to date 18 have had adrenal disease. I've had the surgeries done, including several bilaterals. Surgery did not solve the problem for any of mine, not even those that had had both glands removed. Lupron, on the other hand, has been extremely helpful to all that have been given it. My 5 youngest (all under 3 years of age), who do not appear to have the disease as yet, are all on lupron as a hopeful preventative (and so far I'm seeing good things). Based on my experiences I would absolutely recommend giving lupron a try.
