Subject: [ferrethealth] Clenched teeth
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I have still been thinking about Linus, for those of you who are not aware he died of aspiration pneumonia March 1, as a complication of megaesophagus. Anyway, I have been thinking about one symptom he had that remains unexplained...his teeth were clenched so tight for about the last 7-10 days he was alive. He would eat and act relatively okay, considering his condition, but his teeth would be clenched SO hard 24/7 and no matter how hard I tried to pry them open they would barely budge. I thought maybe he was in pain but he wasn't really showing any other signs, and he was on pain medication. I am wondering if maybe the megaesophagus was caused by some kind of stroke or brain tumor that also caused the clenching.

Anyway, ultimately I was wondering what are reasons for a ferret having clenched teeth like that.
