I got a great tip from my Vet Tech daughter, they don't use flea shampoo at the practice. They lather up the animal and leave the suds on for a couple of minutes. This suffocates the fleas without harsh chemicals. I've found this works great and avoids the nasty chemicals on my fuzzies.
