Subject: [ferrethealth] Plastic bottles!
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
Hi guys,I posted this on the fml yesterday, and want some of you're
opinions. The bpa in plastic, and our ferrets, and the whole phytoestrogen
thing, and how I think it could be adding greatly to adrenal disease in
the ferrets, and who knows what else! The way these estrogens are
effecting womens hormones and kids going into pubity at record low
age,has me thinking we will or should here more on an adrenal
connection,if there is money to fund this kind of study? Also would like
to see more on saw palmetto herb,in the care or preventive of
adrenal/prostate issues... any thoughts? Deb

In this case the compounds are pseudo-estrogens (false
estrogens). Phytoestrogens are estrogen category
compounds which are produced by plants like those
in soybeans, cherries, etc.
If memory serves the plastics with PBAs are the very
flexible and clear ones but check references like the
ones mentioned in the link just below to find out.
You can find some easily accessible references in places
like:

Certainly, people can pose questions to established
researchers at universities, especially if they have the
funding in place. We do not allow money collection
topics here but those who are interested can talk with
Deb privately, especially if the group of you can put
together enough pledges.
To read more about saw palmetto use those two words
as the search in
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez
Results in the past have been highly variable with
that.]
