Metacam & pred do not mix.

The buprenex should be controlling her pain, for the most part. I`m not sure why your vet would have added Metacam. Buprenex is good, usually, for 8-12 hours.(How much does your little girl weigh?)

If the buprenex isn`t cutting it, maybe your vet would be willing to try torbutrol instead for her. We use about 1/6-1/8 of a 5 mg tablet,(TEENY TINY CRUMB!!) crushed finely, & mixed with 1/2 cc water. We put this into their soup. This has really brought comfort to some of our end-stages lymphoma patients---even caused them to enjoy time out of the cage once again, for a while. Torb makes them a bit drowzy, so there`s a fine line with the dosing. Less is more.

I am not familiar with ursodial, unless there`s another name for it that we might recognize. If your vet decides to try torb with her, have him check to be sure it`d be ok to use with this drug.

Which Essiac recipe are you using? Some are more highly concentrated. If you are overdosing her on Essiac, a side-effect could be an upset tummy.(You also might see that she`s more itchy than usual.)

At this point, her comfort is everything.

Please give her a snuggle from us.

Love, Zoo
