With the application of the warm compress just now something headed and then burst in her vulva like a boil would and she lost a lot of pus. Her vulva went down 1/16th of an inch in each measurement.

So, the possibility of a foreign body like a splinter with a repeated abscess from that is definitely on the table as a possibility. If that is present then she will need antibiotics for a month or two, warm compresses twice daily, and ointment.

In relation to the pancreatic tissue question we all know that two vets looked around carefully including under the Cava, and both are experienced ferret vets, so the mildly larger than expected tissue removed is unlikely to be anything other than the R adrenal.

That means that the lab probably put her label on someone else's insulinoma report or someone else's insulinoma tissue.

Still, at times a small gland can be very displaced from where it should be located -- I was that way with an ovary, actually -- so I guess that if the lab does not find a clear adrenal specimen that is hers then we could consider whether we want to see if she gets Addisonian signs if the Fludrocort and Prednisolone are stopped since we know that the left came out cleanly and what came out this time also came out cleanly. If she doesn't go Addisonian then she has a displaced R adrenal and the tissue was ectopic pancreatic tissue with an insulinoma. I don't want to even consider that challenge this close to surgery, though.
