The reason for the fur loss is well known. Lupron at first causes a spike
of LH. That is why using the 24 hour Lupron can cause such problems.
She just happens to very much over-do those Lupron caused spikes --
over respond to it in that regard, as it were. See:
http://www.miamiferret.org/24hr_lupron.htm

We KNOW why the Lupron did not have a beneficial effect because we
know the TN Panel results were negative for increases in the hormones
that are thrown off by normal adrenal disease, so either there was NO
adrenal disease, or one of the very non-standard tumor types (because
the standard ones tend to produce positive adrenal panels) and a good
number of the non-standard ones are benign. Plus, the tissue removed
didn't look particularly worrisome. The way the Lupron has been useless
for her and the negative TN Panel tests pretty much DO go hand in hand.

We had to be most careful because of her recurrent infections and their
impact on her quality of life and this simply was the next thing to try.

There is no such thing as a perfect medication, and that is not a
condemnation. What is right for some individuals, even many individuals,
is simply never going to to be right for all individuals. For this little
girl Lupron is simply not a good drug. She worsens on it, consistently so.
That's not a great surprise given her test results, and that there is nothing
is life that is perfect is also no surprise.
