Yes we have had a very successful spleenectomy done on our 5 1/2 yr. old boy July of 2008. He came out of the anesthetic wanting to eat. We provided Gerber's chicken gravy and he ate right away. Of course he is one that loves to eat. Took him home the same day and of course kept him separated in a cage upstairs for a couple of days. Then restricted exercise for a couple of weeks.

Don't know about the gulping sounds or what her age is or other medical problems. Don't give up hope. Maybe an upset tummy. You might check with your vet about Pepcid AC or Carafate.

Has anyone ever had a really successful spleen removal on a ferret?
