Subject: [ferrethealth] Nexus and his nasty med

Yes, the proglycem has been compounded.=A0 I am going to try putting it in =
his soup.=A0 He has to have 0.2 ml twice daily.=A0 My vet feels the Azium [=
dexamethasone] works better than the pred.=A0 We'll see if we can mask it i=
n the soup.=A0 Otherwise, I have to pry his mouth open and squirt a little =
in and keep repeating until it's gone which takes about six tries.=A0 You c=
annot scruff this ferret, never could.=A0 Even as weak as he is.=A0 We go b=
ack to the vet next Wed. to run the glucose again to see if any improvement=
.=A0 I don't know what to do if there isn't any.=A0 He has the lung/heart i=
ssue too.=A0 He eats so well for me that I just can't put him to sleep.=A0 =
All the other ferrets I had to put to sleep were not eating because their c=
onditions had deteriorated badly.=A0 Those were easy decisions.=A0 I was re=
ady to do it on Monday after looking at the x-ray and blood results, but my=
vet felt we should try the new med, and I agreed since Nexus eats so well.=
=A0 I really pray he goes on his own to spare me the decision.
