To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
My 5 yr old gib Otter, diag with insulinoma in late Jan, had gone off his kibble last weekend. He gets a gr turkey & supplement mush 2x/day just before medicine time.
Otter *shows* no distress other than runny poops.
I called in to the Vet for some carafate, hoping this would be the answer, and it did help his poops look a bit better, but he still won't eat kibble.
I have checked his teeth and tried to see in his throat, there is no obvious irritation in either. No pawing or grunting, no flinching on palpation of his abdomen.
He HAS begged hard treats so I am a bit confused.
Currently doing well ; I don't know HOW he is maintaining on nothing but mush- I
wouldn't call it nutritionally complete long-term, but he even poked out the
other night and did a little dance and play.
Tough old booger,
Have a Vet appt for Sat; I was hoping yo avoid that , but I'm still gonna keep
it
Any input, similar experience?
