Subject: [ferrethealth] Wondering if my ferrets with catch my cold...
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
Hay folks,
Ok so before I posted this message I researched back posts to see if my answer can be solved there first. it confused me more.
So, I have been suffering from a cold for the last 3 days, a bad cold. I have tried to stay out of my ferret room. But I have needed to go in from time to time, and I was all over them right before I got really sick. I kiss my ferrets A LOT and I am now worried they may be getting sick.
Now I do not wish to run to the vet, right away, as I do this a bit to much I WORRY waaayyy to much. Plus I really hate to give them chemicals if I can prevent it naturally.
But I know there respiratory systems are like ours and they may get my cold, or something like it. My question is what can I give them if they do get a cold?
Is there something I can do now to maybe prevent it? I have recently learned, after all but hammering to death my brother, that I may have contracted his cold because my immune system is not as strong as normal, not simply because he was sick. So can I boost theirs?
Thanks yall...Oh and HAPPY EASTER!

If what you have is a cold then ferrets can NOT get it,
but if what you are interpreting as a cold is instead
a bacterial sinus infection or influenza then ferrets
can get it.
I am pulling these posts to see from three things
in my files so some may repeat:

so behave as if you have either a cold, or a
sinus infection, or an influenza that is mild
for YOU due to partial immunity. Wash hands
often and stop the kisses for now.]
