Sounds like there are a lot of issues there.
Why was he put on prednisolone?
For the B-12 there is a 6 week course where the ferret gets simple weekly injections.
The itching could be from adrenal, for relief you could maybe try the Aveeno soothing oatmeal bath, it's a powder you can add to water. Although they hate baths, so something topical would probably be better.
