My little Perla was recently diagnosed w/Agressive Lymphoma in the spleen
and pancreas. Not long after, she began to limp on her rear hind leg
(about 2wks after diagnosis). By the end of the night she began to carry her
hindleg, and with in 48hrsshe progressed to total loss of the use of both of
her hind legs. We had suspected a tumor on the spine, but it is my
understanding an MRI would be needed to confirm that. I am not sure if this is
what you are experiencing with your guy, and I certainly hope it is not.....
but my Perla did become depressed immediately and what helped her was....
that we were constantly with her. She was always held, sat with us when
watching tv, and I constantly talked and sang to her. This did seem to
brighten her spirits tremendously. I work from home and had help, and she
also would communicate w/me when she had to potty so we were able to do this.
I just wanted to offer the suggestion because it seemed to pull my little
girl out of her depressive state. Sadly it took the cancer only 4wks to
claim her life, as it spread to the bone and chest. May she rest in peace.
