Thank you both Tressie & Melissa,

Otter doing much better;
he is eating his mush nicely, and I am able to sneak some ground
kibble in there; I just feel better doing that- yeah I'm funny.
He went to the Vet Saturday, and was tested (neg) for coccidia.
He is on (the dreaded) Flagyl for 10 days as there is something of a stomach or bowel bug in there, and has perked up very well with the addition of some Carnivore Care to his mush.
However he's very wary of me handling him; poor guy gets a mouthful of YUK when I pick him up, with the pred, Flagyl, and Carafate.
I have no problem feeding him the soft food if he's happy with it, so am I.
He also has some very watery mush available all day if he wishes to eat, though he'll usually sleep until I get home and get his mush
warmed for him then.
