My little girl Kailee (4 1/2) was diagnosed with dialated cardio last month. She had an ECG and is in 2nd to 3rd degree heart block.
The meds that she is on are the following:
Theophylline .2 twice a day brocho dialator
furosemide .2 once a day helps with possible fluid buildup
benazepril .2 once a day ACE inhibitor
Her heart rate has stabilized around 100 - it was down in the 70's when she was diagnosed. It only took about 3 days for this to happen. My vet corresponded with a specialist in Gainesville Florida for this treatment. Prognosis is guarded they told me that she could live for as little as 6 months and if lucky for maybe two years (not likely).
She still likes to play but tires very quickly and cannot be over excited (not good for heart)
Good luck - at least you have had 11 good years.
