There are times (actually more often than not) when an experienced
ferret vet will be reasonably certain that it's adrenal disease just
from a physical examination. In those cases the cost of the test just
isn't justified.
When our current vet examined Chin Soon maybe two months prior to
surgery she was sure that it was adrenal, not just from hair loss but
also from Chin Soon's swollen nipples. Surgery proved that she was
absolutely right. We had the same sort of conclusions with our
original vet and he was invariably right.
