The disease appears to be on the rise in other countries as well. I've heard of quite a few cases in Australia.

I'm doing lupron, year round, in all of mine here. Both early alters and late alters. I've had 2 (both early alters) on it since July of 2007, when they were around 1 year of age, and recently started 3 more (late alters, just under 2 years of age) on it as well. I'd hoped the late alters would be spared but I'm seeing the early (behavioral) signs.
I don't think anyone can tell you what way to best handle it. No one knows. I do believe I'm seeing good things with the lupron as a possible preventative, though I won't know for sure for several years yet.
