Where you told how long it would last, that is, when would she need to have another implant? My vet thinks that it lasts anywhere from one to two years.
The other question I had was whether you were giving her Melatonin as well?
And anything else I should be aware of about the Deslorelin. My vet also said the needle is quite large and he is opting to mildly sedate before injecting.
I have seen various quoted times the widest range was from 8 mths to 4 years. Sugar is now just into 9 mths with no problems.
However it is so cheap compared to lupron that I don't care.
I decided not to give melatonin to avoid confusion as what was fixing what.
The needle is very large but Sugar didn't notice it going in but flinched when the implant was ejected from the needle and then carried on licking ferretone from my finger. She had no pre-medication and never showed any discomfort at all apart from the flinch.
