Hi Karen,
Cathy's non peer reviewed article was called Melatonin study
with four intact adult male ferrets and two female ferrets with
adrenal disease. It was in the May 2005 (vol. 3.1) issue of the
Journal of Exotic Mammal Medicine and Surgery, pages 7-9.
She treated 2 female adrenal ferrets: Zoe with a melatonin
implant and Bonnie with Lupron depot (100 mcg each month).
Then she monitored their adrenal hormones for 3 months.
>From page 7 "The melatonin implant appeared to be similarly
effective as monthly administration of Lupron." When you compare
the hormones, the melatonin ferret (Zoe) had slightly lower levels.
