Hello Dr. Murray,

Thank you for your response. I did manage to find that article, though it wasn't exactly an easy find. lol

The article does include the statement quoted above, however it also states that the study with that particular ferret needed to be discontinued due to side effects. The article also states that melatonin was not successful in suppressing sex steroid production in the three males involved in the study.

Can you (or anyone else) tell me if any further studies have been done in regards to toxicity? Also, are any current studies on melatonin underway?

turned out to be a different medication, especially
injectable anesthetics used to quiet the test animals
for studying, so see if something like that was used
