Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Melatonin questions
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I'm with Dr. Murray here. I have used quite a lot of melatonin implants,
have never yet had to sedate a ferret to give one, and have not seen any side
effects past a couple of ferrets that were sleepy for a few days after the
implant was given.

Is it the be-all and end-all of adrenal disease treatment? Of course not.
But it's a very useful part of the treatment arsenal, and is very effective
in many ferrets. In my opinion, it is also very safe.

Dr. Ruth
