I'm not a vet and I certainly can't diagnose anything via e-mail.
What I will say is that when we have had enlarged lymph nodes on the
neck and a needle aspirate was done what we found was lymphosarcoma.
So, the answer to your question is yes, it could be. Some ferrets do,
as Tressie suggested, simply have fat pads in that area that can be
mistaken for enlarged lymph nodes by laypeople like you and me.
Hopefully your vet can make a clear determination what is wrong and
start appropriate treatment. Even if it is lymphoma/lymphosarcoma
there are things that can be done to at least improve quality of life.
