Subject: [ferrethealth] To shed or not to shed . . .
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

That is the question my Garrison appears to be asking. I live in NE WI and nearly every ferret at the shelter I volunteer for have gone through the spring coat blow. Garrison my nearly 3yo MN MF still has a full winter coat, and is showing no signs of his spring shed. He did have the spring trim down about 3 weeks ago-the vet was not worried. I have done research through the old files/posts here. I have talked to my vet and Garrison is health in every way. I know I am being paranoid. All of my previous ferrets have gone through the spring shed in April unless they were adrenal or extremely ill.

My question-in my area and lattitude, when should I worry about his lack of spring shed?

(The whole time Garrison has been smiling at me and saying "A watched weasel will never shed!")
