Subject: [ferrethealth] Displaced Eye Lens
To: "FHL" <ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com>
Bailey, age unknown but over 4, has a displaced eye lens. Cause unknown, no sign of trauma
The lens can be seen floating around under the top eyelid area.
My vet suggested a ophthalmologist appt which we will schedule Monday.
So far the only problem/symptom is a teary eye, sometimes squinting.
Bailey is on a anti-inflammatory for now.
Searched the FHL archives, seems the worst problem is possible glaucoma.
The ophthalmologist appt is only for a consultation at this point.
He has little experience with ferrets, but lots of dog/cat/eye experience.
Anyone have this happen to a ferret?
How was it treated, what was the outcome?
Ardith
