I think it depends on where you live Karen. The Tennesse Panel costs $200.00 for us here and that is in U.S. funds so with the conversion its closer to $250.00, plus it takes 2 weeks to get the results back. An ultrasound costs me $250.00 plus radiologist's fees. Depending on what else he does i.e., needle aspirate biopsies, etc. it can run up to $500.00. Expensive all around.

We don't have a lot of ferrets in this region of Canada so the radiologist does not do many ultrasounds on ferrets and consequently never gets the necessary experience that is needed to make this a good diagnostic tool for us when it comes to adrenal disease.

My vet tends to go with clinical symptoms and treating with Lupron. If it works then the diagnosis is confirmed.
