Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: Rabies vaccinations revisited
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
Hi Ella,
There has not been any ferret study to show that the
rabies vaccine (Imrab) will last for 3 years. Thus they
are still requiring a yearly vaccine in ferrets.
In dogs and cats there is enough research to show the
rabies vaccine will last for 3 years. Thus they changed it
to every 3 years for the rabies vaccine in dgs and cats.
Hope that helps,
Jerry Murray, DVM
