Hi Shawn,
Given the link to the post by Dr. Williams that Sukie provided it would appear that yeast is common in ferrets and even at high levels he recommends that it does not require treatment.
At 6, your ferret is a senior, while some do remain very active I believe the majority of ferrets slow down considerably with advancing age. If all her blood values are within normal range and she is not showing any other obvious symptoms of disease and sees a vet regularly then I would think she is displaying normal senior behaviour.
She may also have side effects from being on a medication for such an extended period of time that may not have been necessary.
I would suggest seeking a second opinion from a more ferret knowledgeable veterinarian. This is not a reflection on the level of care your vet has provided but veterinarians do have their limitations and that is when it is good to find an expert. My own veterinarian, is an Exotics Specialist, considered the ferret expert in our region of Canada and even he is not all-knowing and will consult with more experienced and knowledgeable colleagues in the U.S.
