While the instructions were well written, I would advise caution and have someone experienced at doing this actually take you through the steps one by one. Sukie's reommendation to have a veterinary professional show you is the best advice since even experienced owners don't always syringe correctly. An experienced shelter director is another option.
When adopting out our ferrets I make a point to show the new ferrents how to scruff correctly and actually have them do it themselves until they are comfortable with scruffing and also show them how to properly use an oral syringe and clip nails, etc.
