To give you an idea of how safe Lupron is: The first time our vet
prescribed it was for our ferret Podo. Podo was roughly nine and a
half and had a laundry list of medical issues ranging from
cardiomyopathy to insulinoma. He was taking multiple medications
daily to keep his quality of life good. It all worked and he was
happy and playful but there was no way he could survive a surgery.
Lupron was chosen because it was safe despite his age and medical
issues.

Oh, and yes, it worked. Podo was the poster child for Lupron. He had
the best and fastest results our vet had seen to that time. His
adrenal symptoms all disappeared. Obviously your mileage may vary.
Lupron doesn't work for all ferrets under all conditions but it
probably provides the best course of treatment for an adrenal ferret
where surgery isn't a good idea.

All the best,
Caity and the terrific trio (Ella, Zephyr and Chin Soon)
