Subject: Re: [ferrethealth] Lupron and Melatonin as Preventatives
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

My vet ( specialized and only working with ferrets) told me once that every=
ferret older than five should get Lupron.
So=A0on my ferrets fifth birthday occur, they get their Lupron party.
Nowadays lupron is no longer used by my vet, so now they get an "implantaat=
" that is also used for "castrating"ferrets without surgery. ( hmzz i can t=
remember the name of that stuff... supre...somethingsomething. I ll look i=
t up.

Grr, Joos

Joos is in the Netherlands where deslorelin
is used instead. In the United States the
right implant of that for ferrets' needs
not yet been okayed for use, but in many
other countries it is used. It lasts longer
than Lupron depots and is cheaper, but we
don't have it in the States except for okayed
research purposes.]
