Sukie I am wondering whether this veterinarian is confusing Lysodren with Lupron, the former does cause hypoglycemia and is not recommended for ferrets with insulinoma see: http://www.miamiferret.org/murray.htm
On the other hand I found numerous anecdodal claims on the web that state Lupron can cause seizures and/or hypoglycemia in HUMANS, while other contradictory information states it is used to control seizures. As you, I couldn't find anything published professionally on the subject.
