White and gooey means that he is exuding pus! He needs to be on antibiotics to clear the infection and then needs a dental done. If this infection has gone into his system he may develop septicemia if he hasn't already. This is a serious and potentially fatal condition that requires strong medical intervention.
You can ask your vet to consult with a ferret expert veterinarian. Alberta and Manitoba both have organizations that would be able to give you names of experienced and knowledgeable ferret veterinarians.
