Subject: [ferrethealth] Dying ferret? Pain from IBD?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I have a seven year male ferret that has been fighting a bad case of IBD
for nearly two years now. He is incapable of keeping on weight even with
hand feeding. He has incontinence, but I cannot tell if he is in pain.
My question is how can I tell if he is in pain, or how can I tell if
there is organ failure? I have never had to make a choice about putting
an animal to sleep so this is very hard for me. How have any of you come
to the decision to put your ferret to sleep?
