If the ferret's health is not good, if the growth has gotten large
enough to invade places like the Vena Cava, if the surgeon is not
accomplished enough to get out adrenals completely, if the person is
not able to provide sufficient post operative care, if the individual
is very afraid of surgery, if the growth is not obvious enough to tell
which side is involved, if the ferret's age is advanced enough (7 or 8
or above) that surgery would be unlikely to make a difference in
length of survival, and other reasons can all lead to the use of
Lupron depot and a melatonin implant, or deslorelin and melatonin
implants.
