Is he eating or drinking yet? You have to be careful about letting him go too long without food or water, because ferrets can dehydrate quickly, which will make any other conditions even worse. They also use up all of the food in their system within a relatively short time, usually 6 hours or less.

There could be some sort of obstruction in his digestive tract. Some kind of poisoning is another possibility. He might also have taken a fall and done some internal damage. Ulcerations in the mouth or infected teeth or gums can cause a ferret to stop eating due to pain. Parasites are another possibility, but less likely. If he is grinding his teeth then that is a sign of pain. There are so many 'possibilities' to consider, but without a good ferret vet, I know it can be tough to figure out just what's going on.
