To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hi,
I'm new to this group, and currently have 3 ferrets. I am fairly
certain that one of them has adrenal disease. I have not taken him to a
vet yet, but have self diagnosed this based on his symptoms (hair loss,
lethargy, and recent aggressive behavior). Due to a job loss, I just
don't have the money right now to pay for a surgical procedure. I
desperately don't want to lose him simply because I can't take him to
the vet, so I have been searching the internet for a non surgical
solution to this problem. I have read that giving him a sub lingual
type Melatonin supplement every day can help reverse the problem.
So, I'm wondering if anyone has tried this method and had success? Or,
is surgery the only option?
Thanks!
Andrea
