I am NOT sure from the description if the kidneys really were affected enough to warrant this, but in case they were:
Nephrotoxins (but what poisons ferrets can differ from what poisons humans, for instance, if I recall right Ibuprofen is nephrotoxic for ferrets (but I half asleep so look it up in the archives)
