Subject: [ferrethealth] Cat "shelter cold" URI? Can ferrets catch?

I know there are many types of viruses that shelter cats can get, including the calcivirus, herpes, and more...
Can ferrets typically catch these? I know it's a vague question but I adopted a shelter kitten and it is sneezing. They said "oh its' just a shelter cold". Am bringing to the vet tomorrow.
