Is the ferret receiving any medication for the insulinoma? Have any blood tests been done?
Insulinoma can be generally be medically managed for some time with Prednisone, Prednisolone, Diazoxide or Dexamethasone.

Another thought...is there any chance the ferrets could have been exposed to some type of toxin? If blood work has not been done, now may be the time.

I chose to have him put down because he was very old and may not have survived surgery and it just seemed best...I have 2 other ferrets, Patrick who is almost 7 and Zoe who is not quiet a year. Here is my problem...ONE WEEK TO THE DAY Patrick had the SAME symptoms.
