Subject: [ferrethealth] Ferret Behaviour
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hi,

I don't know if this is a ferret health issue or just a behavioural issue - so please accept my apology if this query is inappropriate for this forum.

I have a group of 4, neutered male ferrets, who have been living together in a large pen for the past 3/4 years. They have been best pals for all this time up until about 2 weeks ago. Two weeks ago one of the ferrets, smudge started to pick on another, coco, and bit coco'd neck and ear. We thought that they must have just been going through a rough time. However nearly 2 weeks on Smudge is still biting coco on his neck and ear, not even bitter bite is putting him off his attacks.

Has anyone seen this kind of behaviour before? They were such good friends before, it is as if a switch has been flicked.

Any advise would be appreciated.

[This sort of behavior can indicate anything from rut setting
in to adrenal disease in either of the ferrets or more so you
can expect to get a number of replies.

Could you give more details? Thanks.
