Subject: [ferrethealth] Update on Deslorelin implant

My foster Peanut was surrendered to us last August with an enormously swollen vulva and patchy baldness. She was put on Lupron and oral Melatonin. Her hair regrew within 2 weeks but her vulva remained swollen although did shrink in size. Over the coming months we continued with the Lupron and oral Melatonin and it did shrink her vulva but it never returned to a normal size even when the Lupron dose was increased. It would swell up again when she was due for the next Lupron dose.
On June 4th she received the Deslorelin implant and was taken off the Melatonin. Within 24 hours her vulva developed the characteristic spotting it had with Lupron just before it started shrinking. Its Day 11 and her vulva is now the smallest its ever been!
I am hopeful it will return to a normal size.
