It really MIGHT WIN to MOVE this ferret colony for
a few weeks or a month and see what happens even
just inside if accessible to outsiders or to a totally
different location for a while if they are normally
inside or if poisoning may be happening inside.

Also check everything where they normally live
with a fine tooth comb when they are gone. Make
sure no galvanized dishes or galvanized water holders
and more -- much more. That is just an example of
things to check for.

Also see if other ferrets there have periodontal disease.
If this thing pulls calcium that may lead to an idea of what
it may be. Periodontal disease has been noted in these
ferrets and from our experience that if not very common
usually.

With the ferrets who got diarrhea or who had fur ball
treatments living an oral route has to be strongly
considered since both of those things cause faster
transit through the GI system. Have they tried seeing
if inducing diarrhea will save ferrets when treatment
is given at vets'? If so then it pays to see how early
in the symptom chain that works and past what point
it no longer works.

And post toxicology results by a toxicologist on
blood
GI system
liver
kidneys
and any other tissue the toxicologist wants.

Tough situation... Sorry it is so rough.

The vets keep mentioning that they suspect a toxin in their
reports. In what you included today the vet says that a
toxin is MORE likely than a disease.

Seriously:
move the ferrets and make sure that they are not
accessible to outsiders to see if the situation changes.
