Hi Theresa

Did you keep them on the same food they were accustomed to or switch them to what you feed yours?

It takes a while for ferrets to adjust to new food, generally a slow transition over a couple of months is best by gradually increasing the proportion of new food to old. Some adjust sooner than others. Otherwise there will be tummy upset and diarreah.

If the stool is a bright lime green colour, mucousy and they are vomiting it could be ECE. However, from your description it sounds more like their system may not be accustomed to new food and its transiting out before it has had a chance to be fully absorbed.

Tressie
