Subject: [ferrethealth] Heaving Ferret

Hay folks,
I am wondering what would cause a ferret to heave. Or make a sound like a half cough. My Ohio baby, Patches, just shed her coat. Actually I plucked it off. She is about 2 now. She is getting a little skinny but I assumed it was because she was just getting ready for summer.
So tonight I noticed, when I picked her up, her like....you know that sound they make right before they cough? Like a bit of a wheeze. She is doing that a lot and seems a bit anxious.
She is drinking and eating, and tonight I separated her and gave her both a water bottle and bowl. I also gave her soup with a bit of pumpkin mixed in.
She is active but....
What do you all think.
